Music, Please.

Hello my loves across the country,

Please give me some music suggestions. If you and Kristy sang a song together, liked a song, talked about songs, have music compilations, or anything, please leave a comment to this post. Write the song and the artist and a little something about why. I hope to put together some music for Kristy's family.

Love,
Sarah

Sarah, your amazing to do all this for her family. I am sure they are grateful as are the rest of us who have been able to read more thoughts and experences of everyone else involved in Kristys life. Thanks and may you and your family be blessed at this time of loss. Kelli Hanis

Kristy sang this song with a group of ladies for some Stake programs. One of my memories of her!

"The Mountain of the Lord" from Women of Destiny.

Another song that reminds me of Kristy is from the same CD. It is called "She." I especially love the last line!

"She is not the picture on the magazine,
She's the woman just behind you in the checkout stand.
She may appear to be common, but she mystifies
In all the ways that wisest men and children understand.
'Cause she has eyes that sparkle with her love.
And she has a smile that's as gentle as a dove.
And no woman in a movie or an ad
Could ever hope to be
As beautiful as She.

She is not a highly honored diplomat,
Held responsible to lead the world to peace.
But what she does is every bit as serious,
Amidst the turmoil everywhere that will never cease.
'Cause she has hands that wipe the tears away.
And she has a voice that makes everything okay.
And no woman from the papers or TV
Could ever hope to be
As indispensable as She.

And it breaks my heart every time I see her wonder
If she means anything in this world that pulls her under.
And she doesn't always see the way that heaven smiles above her.
That's the reason why I try to always tell her that I love her.

'Cause she may not be known for giving millions
To the charities and auctions on the news.
But I believe she's given more than anyone
All the times she's ever had to choose
To give up sleep and rock her children every night.
And give her heart to always hold their dreams so tight.
And the best that you and I could ever hope to be
Is as wonderful as She.

Kristy has been my visiting teacher and dear friend these past few months. I will always be grateful she was. She brought faith, inspiration, understanding and love. Just a few months ago, we were visiting and talking about how burdensome life is and how the mundane things of the day get in the way of doing what we "think" are more important things. We started talking about the song "In the Meantime" from Women of Destiny Volume 2, sung by Jenny Jordan Frogley. I love this song. Kristy started to sing it in her beautiful voice. As I've read the words to this song, it's brought more meaning to me. It seems to fit her life so well, especially her last few months on Earth. She was going through many bitter trials yet, with the hope of a brighter future with great accomplishments. She probably didn't realize that "in the meantime" she was a mother, a daughter, and a wife, a sister and a teacher and a friend, an answer and a blessing and a gift. "In the meantime", the Lord truly has molded and refined her, sanctified and prepared her for her mansion in Heaven. Sarah, please share this beautiful song with her family. I hope it will touch them and bring peace.
It will always remind me of Kristy.
Love, Jordan Mc.

I would also love to hear Kristy's voice if anyone has a recording. I would love to recommend the song
"Sometimes he let's it rain" from the Women of Destiny CD.

Sarah,

I did not know Kristy, however the love she inspired in all those who speak of her makes me realize that the world has lost another angel.
I used to be in a choir and two of the songs that meant the most to me and may help the family cope with this devastating loss:
1st is
Lift Me Up Lord: This was written by the parents of the children killed in the Oklahoma bombing. It speaks of love and hope and strength and I think it epitomises what her family is feeling right now
2nd is
Thanksgiving Song or Going Home:
This is a song about what we have waiting for us on the other side and although I never heard her sing I would imagine Kristy would sound beautiful singing it.

My prayers are with you and all of those who loved and miss this extraordinary woman.

Sarah,
WOW! You are amazing and Thank you for taking the time to do all of this...I knew Kristy as well as her brother Tony and of course Ann...she and Ann gave me my bridal shower..yes another party..so since Kristy passed I have had visuals in my minds eye of Kristy dancing and singing with her little boys..I can just picture her doing that and the songs I keep singing as I dance with my little girls are by inside out..you can find them at www.insideout.com and the two in particular that I say "dedicate to her boys in her memory" are the Peanut Butter and Jelly song and the Primary Jamboree song..both of which I know Kristy would have loved and played and sang to her boys..may they dance like she is watching....Sherry

Sarah,
After I posted this I realized I gave you the wrong web site for inside out...I don't know it and I feel like a heel for posting the error...However I KNOW your sister Naomi will know of the web site and infact your mom is very familiar with the group as well. I love your family! My mistake to send out a mis-leading web site and well I still think and believe if Kristy didn't know of inside out she would have loved em..perhaps she did know about them, in anycase I hope you find the two songs..and can see with your minds eye what I see..thanks again for this awesome web site..I just learned of it today! how refreshing :) Sherry
